|0982 Mallow Racecourse|
||Antoin Daltun-Dublin very kindly allowed us access to his collection of aviation photographs which he took over a period of 40 years.|
There was a grass runway here with some based aircraft. It also seen some use on racedays. Is it still in use now.
This photo, taken by Antoin on 06.10.1984 is exceptional because it shows the temporary hard runway that was constructed in order to fly out XA-FOU which forced landed here on 18.03.1983.
Also in 1933 the Air Corps surveyed the NE corner (where the strip for XA-FOU was constructed), as a temporary landing ground and this was probably the site used by the Flying Circus's on their visits to Mallow in 1936 & 1937.
